Lindsey-Street Post #322 of the American Legion was proud to recently present their 2011 American Character Award to graduating Senior Steven Smolyn. The Award recognizes his academic accomplishments, his participation in school sports, and his outstanding volunteer efforts. In recognizing the achievements and contributions of current students, the Award also honors the memory of graduates of Summit High School who gave their lives in armed conflicts to defend America and to maintain opportunities for productive careers and lives of public service. In addition to the certificate, Steven was awarded a check for $1,000 for his continuing education.
