Helen Ellis Shawger of Durham, NC, died on July 22 after a brief illness. She was 95. Born in Maplewood, Shawger attended Kent Place School and Summit High School in Summit. She married a fellow Summit resident, the late David C. Shawger, in 1939 and lived there with him before moving to Durham in 1992. She had been a longtime member of Central Presbyterian Church in Summit.
