Share the Care- 5k Run/Walk/Kids Race for Morris Habitat for Humanity
Morris Plains: September usually means great weather for running and once again RPI design build, LLC, a local builder based in Morris County and The Borough of Morris Plains “The Community of Caring” will be hosting a 5k Run/Walk and kids race on Thursday, September 6th at 6:30 p.m. to benefit Morris Habitat for Humanity (MHfH). Following the 5K, there will be a Kids Fun Run for children ages 2-14.
Early registration is available until August 25th. Fees are $20 for the 5K and $10 for the Kids Fun Run. After August 25th the day of the race fees are $25 for the 5K and $15 for the Fun Run. All net proceeds go directly to Habitat for Humanity.
From the starting point of Trinity Lutheran Church, participants in the 5K will run or walk on a USA Track & Field marked course through the streets of Morris Plains. Refreshments, food, entertainment and t-shirts will be provided to all pre-registered participants. Children participating in the Fun Run will also receive a medal. Prizes will be awarded to the top female and male adults overall and by age groups. To encourage healthy lifestyles in our children, a cash prize will be awarded to the school with the most participants.
Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials from local businesses, churches, individual donors and fundraising events, Morris Habitat for Humanity (MHfH) builds and rehabilitates houses in partnership with local families in need.
