Marissa Jennings, a junior at Summit High School, finished in 1st place and won the Gold Medal at the 2012 New Jersey Rowing Championships in Teaneck New Jersey over the weekend.

Marissa, manning the second seat in her Women’s Quad- high school race, pulled her team to victory in record time. 

Marissa, a 2-sport, 2-year varsity letter winner in Swimming and Softball, began rowing over the summer of her sophomore year.  Not having a rowing program in Summit didn’t stop Marissa - she took the leap and joined the Westfield Crew Club, a club that was founded just seven years ago.

Marissa is “all in with Crew” as she says and is planning on rowing competitively in college. She has already started the recruitment process with several D1 programs.
