Summit EMS volunteer receives EMT Excellence Award
Corey Platt, a member of the Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad received an EMT Excellence award at the Overlook Hospital 14th Annual EMS Award dinner on May 20. The award is given each year during National EMS Week to outstanding Emergency Medical Technicians in the local communities served by Overlook Hospital.
Corey was nominated for the award by Kari Phair, Captain of the Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad.
Platt joined the Summit First Aid Squad two years ago as part of the Squad's Junior Program for high school students. He earned his EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) certification last year, and is now an adult member of the First Aid Squad. He also serves as a volunteer fire fighter for the Chatham Township Volunter Fire Department.
Corey plans to attend County College of Morris in the fall, while continuing his service to the Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad.
