The Summit Short Hills MK has just skyrocketed.  Andrea Spaar explains, "I am just amazed, it took one year to get to 100,000 and in less than six months we have double our views to over 200,000." Signing up for the FREE subscription, ensures a family they will know about great events.  Andrea explains, "There is SO MUCH to do in our area, it is hard to weed through it all and choose what is best for your family that is nearby.  On a weekly basis, we list 50-60 family friendly activities and events in the local area. I like to say to parents, let me do the 40 hours a week researching, so you can spend time DOING things with your family."

Macaroni Kid also offers articles: The Playground of the Week, Child-Related Recalls, Manhattan Bound?, Recipes, Crafts and so much more. The growth of Macaroni Kid newsletters/websites across the country has been staggering. It is emerging as one of the go to sources for local families. There are now over 400 locations around the country and a few internationally. The Summit Short Hills MK has over 900 subscriber families. The South Orange Livingston MK, which Andrea has been running since March, has over 600 subscribers and over 79,000 website views.

Andrea is often asked "What differentiates you from some of the other services and newspapers?"  She explains, "There are so many great resources for local news in our area, all the Local Patch(es), The Alternative Press, Independent Press, The Item,  and more. MK concentrates on providing information about family events and activities in the future; whereas many of the local media providers will report on events after they have happened. One other difference, we do not allow anyone to post directly to our site, everything must be submitted and we will follow-up and then post it. We also actively research our community to find activities that families would not otherwise know about. We do post intra-week updates on the site and announce changes on Facebook, and Twitter."
