Clergy Participate in Build Day at Habitat Site

Volunteers installed stucco, hung doors upon each of the homeowners’ condos and applied the final stages of the roof trusses June 15.

Morris Habitat hosted an area and parishioners Interfaith & Community build at 39 Morris Avenue for a day filled with building, barbeque and blessings on June 15.

Kicking off the build day with a devotion was Rabbi Avi Friedman, of the Jewish Community Center.  In his speech, Friedman commented on how truly blessed the six partner families are to have such remarkable volunteers who donate their time and resources to provide hardworking families in need with affordable housing.

Throughout the morning, volunteers installed stucco, hung doors upon each of the homeowners’ condos and applied the final stages of the roof trusses.

Participating Congregations include; Unitarian Church in Summit, Christ Church, St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fountain Baptist Church, Calvary Episcopal Church, Summit Jewish Community Center and the Religious Society of Friends who were joined by some of their parishioners.

If you’re interested in volunteering or would like to donate to the project please contact Carolyn Haraksin at  973-891-1934.
