Fitness Chain Opens Summit Gym
Gym rats and fitness enthusiasts have already starting working out at the new Equinox fitness on River Road.
Editor's Note: The following is a press release from Equinox fitness.
New Jersey residents will be able to indulge in Equinox's impeccable service that New Yorkers practically take for granted. Equinox opens its newest 30,000 square foot club at 68 River Road.
"Equinox Summit continues our tradition of developing locally inspired and iconic facilities. A restored cobble stone drive leads to the former 1930's trolley car house nestled in the northern New Jersey landscape. A landscaped green wall and ipe wood screens define the exterior volumes," says Aaron Richter, VP of Design.
The interior is highlighted by a new central skylight and includes a careful mix of industrial and modern design elements that enhance the 24' high barrel vault wood ceiling and original bowstring trusses. Warm hues and tones accompany modern residential vignettes, exemplifying the exclusive "woodland retreat."
"There has been a huge demand for an innovative, upscale fitness club in a number of cities where the market is under-served," says Harvey Spevak, CEO for Equinox.
"By opening in Summit, our aim is to meet the needs of a discriminating consumer who demands the best and currently doesn't have the opportunity to get it." According to Spevak, the Summit location will boast the cutting-edge equipment and programs, award winning design, inspirational workout environment and unparalleled focus on the members' experience which has always made Equinox such a success.
Inside Equinox's three fitness studios, the industry's top instructors will lead a full range of yoga, cycling, Pilates and innovative group fitness classes. Equinox's cardio and strength training areas unite free weights and state of the art cardio machines to create an inspirational setting where members can workout on their own, or with one of Equinox's nationally recognized personal trainers.
The Shop @ Equinox offers a seamless transition to and from the club with the latest in style and function from luxury fashion labels and must-have essentials. Hoboken Farms, a popular sandwich shop and fixture at more than 30 area farmers' markets, expands into fresh and organic energy food with the Equinox Hoboken Farms Good Health Cafe. Additionally, the club will also have a serene rock garden outside of the cafe, which provides moments of relaxation and rejuvenation.
A second New Jersey location is set to open spring 2013 in Paramus.
