Support the Summit High School Men's and Women's Lacrosse Teams while enjoying an evening of good food, music, and fun.
A fundraising event for the Hilltoppers Lacrosse Program will be held on Friday, Feb. 24, from 7:30 p.m. to midnight, at the Summit Elks Club, 40 Maple Street, Summit.
The Summit Hilltoppers men's lacrosse season is set to return for the 2012 season looking to reclaim the Tournament of Champions title that just barely eluded them in 2011, a championship that would have given the Hilltoppers the rare "three-peat" and their 69th consecutive win. The 68-game winning streak was a New Jersey record and one of the most impressive runs in the history of NJ high school sports. The stretch includes an undefeated 2010 season and one loss in both 2009 and 2011. The seasons make up the three best in Summit history and the best three-year span in school history. Summit produced nine All-Americans over the stretch. This year's group looks to continue the success of their predecessors while creating some of their own history.
The girls also look to maintain their usual success coming off of a 22-win season in 2011 and a 17-win season in 2010. Despite the run of success, the team's season ended the same way it did in 2010, with a win over West Essex in in the sectional semifinals followed by a loss to rival Chatham in the sectional championship.
Keep an eye out for in-depth previews as we approach the start of the season!
