Kent Place School Senior Jenna Immormino was recently named a Scholastic All-American Swimmer for 2011. She received the same distinction in 2010. In addition, USA Swimming has also recognized Jenna for maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout the year. Immormino, one of the state's best swimmers, has produced a career full of great accomplishments.
Jenna was the 2011 NJ state champion in the 50 and 100 freestyle as well as the 2011 prep champion in both events. Immormino broke the meet and pool record in the prep championships. For her efforts, she was named 2011 1st team all-state, 2011 Union County Swimmer of the Year.
Immormino, who also swims for the Y Club at the state, national and junior national level, has been a leader of the group for nearly all of her career in which she has been a three-time letter winner and captain.
Swimming.com lists Jenna as third in the state.
Senior Jillian Nash was recognized by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) and was selected to represent Kent Place at the National Association for Girls & Women in Sports Day held at Seton Hall University on January 22. The 26th annual event was a landmark one as it celebrated the 40th anniversary of Title IX. Nash, along with other high school and collegiate female athletes, were honored for her outstanding athletic performance and academic achievements.
