Lt. Governor Stops In Union County to Honor Those Lost in 9/11
Summit lost 9 of its residents in the Sept. 11, terrorist attacks. A piece of the World Trade Center was presented to the Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad.
Amanda Brown, 8, got a history lesson from Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno that she will never forget. Union County dignitaries such as Assemblyman Jon Bramnick, NJ Sen. Tom Kean Jr. and Assemblywoman Nancy Muñoz were in attendance as Guadagno explained to Brown the importance of the 9/11 artifact that sat in a large room at the headquarters for the Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad.
Summit Mayor Ellen Dickson was also on hand and shared a few words with the crowd of mostly volunteer first aid squad members, police, and residents.
Volunteer first aid squad Capt. Kari Phair said she got a phone call a few weeks ago about the artifact, a 100 lb steel beam, that the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey wanted to give to Summit.

Summit lost nine people in the World Trade Center attacks in 2001. They were:
David B. Brady, Mark Bruce, Thomas R. Clark, James L. Connor, Kevin R. Crotty, Thomas Glasser, Robert A. Lawrence, Jr, A. Todd Rancke, and Clive "Ian" Thompson a member of the first aid squad.
