Man Arrested With 2 Handguns, Say Summit Police

The incident occurred near Blackburn Road and Valley View in the late afternoon, allegedly an hour after police responded to a harassment report.

 

A man was arrested with two hand guns near Blackburn Road and Valley View Avenue in the vicinity of Franklin Elementary School, late this afternoon, said Summit police. He had allegedly brandished the weapons, according to an unconfirmed reports.

The man, who was not identified, was taken into custody some time around 5:20p.m. Police had responded to a harassment complaint at a residence in the area earlier in the day. It's not clear if the gun arrest was connected to the harassment complaint.

A Summit police sergeant confirmed the arrest, but couldn't elaborate on the incident.
