Police Release Details of Fatal BH Car Accident
The accident at Park Avenue and Willow Way occurred when one driver attempted a left hand turn in front of an oncoming driver, say police.
An accident in Berkeley Heights that took the life of a Manchester woman this past weekend was caused when one driver made a left hand turn in front of oncoming traffic, reported Berkeley Heights Police.
In a release issued this evening, police stated that the accident occurred when Michael D. Miller, 19, of Locust Valley, NY, attempted a left turn on to Willow Way while travelling northeast on Park Avenue, in front of Joseph Tribuna, 50, of Berkeley Heights, who was operating a 2007 Honda and travelling southwest on Park Ave. approaching Willow Way.
The crash resulted in serious injuries to Linda Tribuna, 50, of Berkeley Heights and Antoinette Cecere, 79, of Manchester NJ, both of whom were passengers in the Tribuna vehicle. The injured parties were transported by the Berkeley Heights Rescue Squad to Morristown Memorial Hospital where Antoinette Cecere succumbed to her injuries on June 19.
The accident occurred at 2:02 p.m. on June 16.
Miller was operating a 2000 Ford.
The Berkeley Heights Traffic Division and the Union County Fatal Accident team also responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. The accident remains under investigation at this time and the Berkeley Heights Police Department asks anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact Det. Sgt. Joseph Williams or Sgt.
