Update: Missing Student Found
Westfield and NJ State police were actively searching for a student who jumped from a school bus and fled Tuesday morning.
Update: 4:02p.m. The missing child has been found, according to police. Union County PD now have custody of him.
Westfield Police Chief David Wayman confirmed that police are actively searching for a student of a Westfield school who is missing.
According to reports, a 15-year-old boy jumped off a school bus and fled Tuesday morning in the area of Lamberts Mill Road and Rahway Avenue.

While police would not confirm which school the student attends, a spokesperson for the Westfield public school district confirmed that student does not attend a Westfield public school nor is a Westfield resident.
State police, Clark Police and Fire departments and the National Guard are assisting in search, using helicopters and boats. The Fanwood Police Department was also at the scene as of 2:30 p.m. as was the Union County canine unit.
