IN SHORT
Under threatening skies that eventually opened up and with frequent rumbles of thunder that brought a 30 minute delay in the second half, the two teams hit the field sure to leave it all on the turf.
Summit would open up the scoring in the fourth minute of play with a single handed goal by Caroline Cordrey. Goals by Devin Lawler and Megan Peytas would keep the Hilltoppers in the game, but Chatham would be hard to contain.
Chatham would put together a relentless attack scoring 10 goals in the first half, including four by Kelsey Perselay. Another goal by Peytas and a second from Cordrey would complete the Summit scoring for the first half.
The second half brought thunder and a stoppage of play, but the game would continue to go to Chatham scoring another eleven goals to three from Summit.
COACH'S TAKE
"We felt coming in here we were going to have to play one heck of a game to beat them. They are a very, very good team obviously. A couple breaks didn't go our way and things snowballed from there." - Summit coach Mike Walsh
