Summit Police Chief Robert Weck sported a team "Cops" baseball jersey Wednesday afternoon. His police officers backed him up for a Fourth of July competition that pitted cop against EMT.

The city's volunteer first aid squad fell, 12-2, to the "boys in blue" during the friendly game of softball. It was vindication for the PD since the first aid squad won the contest last year.

Retired police officers were also there to cheer on the fun.  At the end of the game Weck presented Retired Police Lt. Mario Lombardi, who is in his 80s, with the Mayor's Cup game-winning ball.
