March Dates Set for Summit First Grade Registration
Eligible children must be 6-years-old on or before Oct. 1, 2012.
The Summit Public Schools has scheduled registration days for children who will be entering first grade in September 2012. Children who are currently enrolled in kindergarten in the Summit Schools do not need to be re-registered for first grade.
Registration for first grade will be held on March 7, 8, and 9 for Summit residents’ children whose sixth birthday falls on or before Oct. 1, 2012.
Registration will take place at the Summit elementary school the children will attend. If a parent is not sure in which elementary school neighborhood they reside, they may find out by calling the Summit Board of Education at 908/918-2100, X3102.
Appointments are necessary for registration and can be made by calling the schools: Brayton School, 908/273-1276; Franklin School, 908/277-2613; Jefferson School, 908/273-3807; Lincoln-Hubbard School, 908/273-1333; Washington School, 908/273-0817. Registration forms can be found on the Summit Public Schools website, www.summit.k12.nj.us.
All completed registration forms must be submitted at the time of registration except for the medical forms, which must be completed and submitted to the schools by June 1, 2012. However, the medical forms may be submitted at registration if they are completed by that time.
Also required at registration:
• The child’s official birth certificate with raised seal. (Passport is acceptable if birth certificate is not available.)
• Four proofs of Summit residency. (Acceptable proofs of residency are listed on page two of the Preliminary Information sheet included in the registration packet.)
