Summit Storm Event Report, Nov. 8: Power Back by Saturday? Street Listings From JCP&L (Video)
JCP&L updated residents yesterday on which streets would be turned back on by the weekend.
The following is text from the City's latest storm event update, Nov. 8, 2012:
JCP&L is now reporting that substantially all of the community will have electric service restored by Saturday evening; however, there will be some areas that will take longer.
The electric utility has provided a partial list of streets that may receive power restoration as early as today – the list is on the City website.
The weekend weather is forecasted to include warming temperatures. Please joins us Saturday afternoon at the Summit Football Game at 1 PM at Investor’s Bank Field at Tatlock.

How about a timeline for those streets not on "the list?" We understand things take time, we are just asking for accurate information so we can make appropriate plans for our families. Will it be two days, one week, by Thanksgiving? I'd even take an "I don't know but it won't be by Sunday."
Please Mayor Dickson, the backlash from these false hopes, inaccuracies, lies will do you more political damage than an honest "I just don't know."

Just heard this from a friend who lives in Basking Ridge...
"Subject: Power in Basking Ridge
My mayor went on a rant and yesterday got 88 crew men to work on our town. They restored 1900 people in a 12 hour period. I saw a lot of trucks around and our Police Station got power last night as well."

Did anyone know that First Energy/JCP&L CEO is going to play golf in Arizona while our kids in NJ freeze? Don't believe me - check out this from their website. The wonderful conference in Arizona includes all kinds of fun family activities. Please urge him to skip the golf and come to our town and help!

How are the police handling the power outage? Are they making constant patrols at night? I'm a college student away from home and I'm worried about my family given the current situation.
