The Weekender: Recreation, Rubber Duck Race and Rummage Sales
This weekend has great indoor and outdoor activities for the entire family.
This weekend has a number of charitable fundraisers for you to attend as well as adopting a rubber duckie to enter into the 2nd Hanson Park Conservancy Rubber Duck Race. Another adoption that is available this weekend will be loving dogs looking for a good home sponsored by Home For Good Dog Rescue.
Saturday has a number of rummage sales that offers something for everyone. It is time to start your holiday shopping early and support a great cause.
Sunday is Scotch Plains Day with games, a car show and much more. It’s time to celebrate and bring the family to this event.

The Occupational Center of Union County is hosting a Casino Night at L’Affaire. The ticket price will include dinner and 50 chips for trying your luck at the Casino Games. $50.00/person - 7 p.m. – Mountainside

The Cranford United Methodist Church will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast & Car Wash. All are invited to enjoy a wonderful breakfast then have their car washed. $5.00/person for breakfast & $5.00 for car wash – 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. – Cranford
The 4th Annual Collectables and Delectables Rummage sale will be at Saint Teresa of Avila Church’s Memorial Hall. Proceeds from the sale will continue to assist and support at risk children in the community. Free - 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Summit
The United Methodist Church of Summit is hosting a rummage sale and items for sale to include clothing, household items, etc. Free – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Summit
Scotch Plains Day is offered in conjunction with the Scotch Plains Recreation Department. There will be food, a car show, rides, live music and much more. Free – 12 noon to 5 p.m. – Scotch Plains
Home for Good Dog Rescue will be at the Summit Fall Street Fair with precious animals looking for a good home. Free – 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Summit
You’re invited to adopt and cheer on a rubber duck that will be racing down the Rahway River and over the Sperry Park waterfalls to the finish line at the North Union Avenue Bridge. All proceeds will benefit the continuing restoration of Hanson Park as well as the Hanson Park Conservancy Educational programs. $5.00 – 4 p.m. - Cranford
