Week Ahead: SHS Midterms, Groundhog Day and Big Band Dance

Monday
- Summit High School Exams: Midterms start this week.
- Varsity Hoops: Come cheer on the boys basketball team as they face Koinonia Academy at 4 p.m.
- Middle School Wrestling: Summit takes on Rahway at 4p.m.
- Valentines Day Crafts: Sign up early at the library for a weekend workshop. Teen volunteers help kids in grades 1 through 5 make their own holiday hearts this Saturday, Feb. 4 from 2p.m.-3:00p.m.
Tuesday
- Library's Mother Goose Storytime: Bring your 6 to 12-month old child to the second installment in the library's weekly storytime sessions. Story time runs from 9:45 a.m. to 10:05 a.m. or 10:30a.m. to 10:50a.m. at the Summit Free Public Library.
Wednesday
- Julian Barnes Book Discussion: Jon Plaut leads his final talk in his latest best books series. He'll discuss "The Sense of an Ending" by Julian Barnes, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Summit Free Public Library.
Thursday
- Groundhog Day: Reeves-Reed Arboretum will hold its 1st Annual Groundhog Day event at 10 a.m. in the Carriage House Discovery Center.
Friday
- Power Networking: Suburban Chambers of Commerce holds a Power Networking event and breakfast at the Grand Summit Hotel beginning at 8a.m. Guest speaker will be business consultant Rocky Romero. Call 908-522-1700 for details.
- 40th Big Band Dance: Get your dancing shoes on for the Summit High School Jazz band's 40th Annual Big Band Dance. It takes place from 7p.m. - 10p.m. at the Grand Summit Hotel.

Come cheer on the SHS women's basketball team, with their winning record, on Tuesday at 7pm at home.
The high school is also in the midst of midterm exams.
