Winter Storm Travel Updates

Monday morning travel will be affected by the blizzard.

SUMMIT--For those of you who have to go to work in the morning, be aware that the weather has brought some changes to your daily routine.

NJ Transit: For those of you who commute, the roads will be treacherous through tomorrow afternoon.  Mass transit will be the better choice to avoid accidents and traffic jams. The New Jersey Transit website states that trains will be operating on an enhanced weekend schedule due to weather. When checking the timetables, be sure to enter in 01/17/2011 as your travel date.  Bus service has been suspended until the roads are safe to travel again.  Bus passes will be accepted on trains due to this inconvenience. Light Rail service has been suspended between many major stations.

Monday Morning Update: NJ Transit alerts passengers that it will be operating on a 20-30 minute delay due to weather.

Amtrak: For those of you leaving the area by train, be aware that Amtrak has suspended all service between New York and Boston for the remainder of the evening.  Amtrak officials are reporting that service is expected to resume Monday morning.  As of Sunday evening, service between New York and Washington has not been affected.

Monday Morning Update: Limited service has resumed between New York and Boston.  Check the status of your train before leaving.

Newark: Weather has caused major disruptions to flights. Many airlines have canceled outgoing flights.  Check status of trip online before leaving for the airport.

Monday Morning Update: The AirTrain at EWR has been suspended due to weather.  Major flight disruptions are also expected.  Check with your carrier before leaving for the airport.

JFK: As of Sunday night, JFK Airport has been closed.  Check trip status online to see if travel has resumed on Monday morning.  AirTrain service has also been suspended.  A shuttle is running from Howard Beach Station to JFK.

Monday Morning Update: Currently no flights are going in or out.  Check with your individual carrier before leaving for the airport.

LaGuardia: Weather has caused major disruptions to flights. Many airlines have canceled outgoing flights.  Check status of trip online before leaving for the airport.

Monday Morning Update: LGA cancelled all flights and shut down the airport due to weather early Monday morning.  Check your trip status before leaving for the airport.
