Wrestling Falls to Columbia in Opening Meet

Plus: Swimming defeats Elizabeth and boys and girls basketball split season openers.

Boys Ice Hockey

The Hilltoppers defeated Scotch Plains, 6-1. Eric Stabler led the team in scoring with two goals. Liam McLaughlin had one goal and one assist while Tim Yager, Will Brenn and Jeff Wycoff each had one goal for Summit, now (4-1).

Boys Basketball

The Hilltoppers dropped their season opener to Union Catholic Friday night, 58-45. Summit Patch was in attendance and brought you a full report. Ba'Shawn Mickens led the team in scoring with 21 points followed by Curtis Slaght with eight points and Levi Glick with seven points.

Girls Basketball

Summit's Kelly Osmulski made a clutch layup with 1.7 seconds remaining, to lead the girls basketball team to a huge 44-43 win against Union High School on Friday. Osmulski was the top scorer for the Hilltoppers as she hit for 17 points in the game, including her winning shot at the end of regulation.
