DESCRIPTION:JANIS McCRACKEN began her art career in the late 70's when sh
 e took  courses in hand-built pottery at the Summit Art Center.&nbsp\;
 In the early 90's\, Janis and her husband lived in Paris where she was
 greatly influenced by the great masters\, especially the Impressionists.
   She also traveled extensively with her husband including several trips
   to Asia where she grew to love and appreciate Asian art and culture.\n
 "The theme of this exhibition is New York City. With these images I&rsqu
 o\;ve tried to capture the movement\, the spirit\, the moods\, and the
 excitement of &ldquo\;the city that never sleeps&rdquo\;. These images
 were inspired by photographs that I take each time I visit New York. I
 hope they express my love of the urban landscape &ndash\; and especiall
 y New York City where I reside part time. Some of the smaller works are
  studies done prior to producing a larger work of the same image. I&rsq
 uo\;m sharing these pieces with you to show the  &ldquo\;process&rdquo\;
  I use when creating my work."
