DESCRIPTION:The Summer International Film Festival continues at the  Spri
 ngfield Free Public Library today\, Thursday\, August 2\, 2012.&nbsp\; T
 he library  will screen&nbsp\;The Artist&nbsp\;(2011) at 1 p.m. and 7 p.
 m.&nbsp\; In 1927\,  George Valentin is a silent movie superstar. Howeve
 r\, the advent of the  talkies will kill his career and he will sink int
 o oblivion.&nbsp\; For young  extra Peppy Miller\, it seems the sky's th
 e limit as major movie stardom  awaits.&nbsp\; Though their careers are 
 taking different paths\, their destinies  will become entwined. This fil
 m is 100 minutes and rated PG-13.   Funding for the film program has bee
 n made possible in part by the NJ  State Council on the Arts\, Departmen
 t of State\, a partner agency of the  National Endowment for the Arts\, 
 through a grant administered by the  Union County Office of Cultural and
  Heritage Affairs and by the Friends  of the Springfield Free Public Lib
 rary.  Admission is free and refreshments are served.&nbsp\; Assistive l
 istening  devices are available upon request.&nbsp\; The Springfield Fre
