DESCRIPTION:This summer\, the 2012 workshop Theater Project Jr. will offe
 r its annual production to the general public. WILLY WONKA JR.\, a kid-f
 riendly adaptation of the Roald Dahl classic\, will be presented at the 
 Jardine Academy\, 61 Myrtle Street in Cranford. Three performances\, on 
 August 17 and 18 at 8 p.m. and 19 at 2 p.m.\, have been scheduled. Ticke
 ts are available at $12 apiece\, and children under 5 will be admitted f
 ree.\nWILLY WONKA JR. is a stage adaptation of CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE
  FACTORY. It tells the story of a world-famous confectioner and his ques
 t to find an heir. Dahl&rsquo\;s book was adapted by Leslie Bricusse and
  Timothy Allen McDonald\, with a musical score written by Bricusse and h
 is STOP THE WORLD collaborator\, Anthony Newley. Among the many infectio
 us tunes is &ldquo\;The Candy Man\,&rdquo\; a song that became a huge hi
 t record for another junior\, Sammy Davis.\nThis delightful fantasy has 
 been popular for generations. Gene Wilder starred in a 1971 film version
 \, WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY\, remade with Johnny Depp in 20
 05.\nWILLY WONKA JR. is the sixth production for this educational progra
 m\, which began in 2007 with a lively version of OLIVER! Children from 8
  to 18 participate in a nine week workshop\, culminating in a musical pe
