Visual Arts Center Kicks Off 'For Art's Sake' 2013

The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, based in Summit, officially kicked off its eighth annual "For Art's Sake 2013" fundraising party.

On Feb. 12, 2013, the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey officially kicked off its eighth annual "For Art’s Sake 2013" fundraising party at the Summit home of Art Center Trustee, Jenny Reinhardt.

For Art’s Sake is set for Apr. 12 and 13 and is co-chaired by Board Chair Sue Welch and Trustee Helaine Winer. The two day event includes the Road Trip, an exclusive insider’s tour of local, private contemporary art and glass collections, and the signature Blank Canvas Benefit featuring a silent art auction, ‘Buy it Now’ Insider’s Salon and cocktail party.

The FAS committee was in attendance to greet more than 45 guests, who included Art Center Board members, supporters and sponsors. The elegant evening was celebrated with champagne, festive cocktails and exceptional catering from David Ellis Events.

Artist and host Jenny Reinhardt remarked, “We are lucky beyond measure to have Ann Schaffer and her family curate the Blank Canvas Benefit because it is this serendipitous relationship between curating and placement of the art that allows each piece to sing and distinguishes the event. In turn, the whole show functions as an entire work of art unto itself.”

The Kick-Off party was instrumental in helping to raise funds and generate support to make this year’s For Art’s Sake a great success. FAS event proceeds will support education programs, exhibitions, and outreach initiatives that benefit children, adults, seniors, and those with special needs.
