Art Center to Host For Art's Sake 2014

Summit, NJ: The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey announced that it will host its annual For Art’s Sake Fundraiser on Saturday, May 3, 2014. The Art Center’s signature event includes a unique silent art auction featuring the work of over 100 New Jersey artists juried by an art committee, a Connoisseurs’ Salon of contemporary art work, festive cocktails, and premiere catering.

Co-chaired by Kelly Deere, Terri Friedman and Greg Smith, the event will also include a VIP Connoisseurs’ Reception on Friday, May 2. For Art’s Sake VIP ticket holders will enjoy a special curator’s Art of Collecting Talk and have an exclusive opportunity to meet and mingle with the artists. The evening will also include cocktails and light refreshments, a chance to preview the art and place a sealed bid prior to Saturday night’s auction.

For the past nine years, the For Art’s Sake event has helped raise over $300,000 a year that directly benefits annual outreach programs including Artists with Disabilities and Arc, NJ Seeds and Young Scholars Program, SAGE Elder Care: Art from the Heart, The Connection for Women and Families and other initiatives in Essex, Union, and Morris counties. Arts educational and enrichment programs are also provided for over 22 school districts across northern and central New Jersey. Tickets available later this month. For more information about the event please visit www.artcenternj.org or call (908) 273-9121.
