Bridgewater Resident To Participate in Two Photography Exhibitions

Parvathi Kumar, of Bridgewater, who received a master’s degree in computer science from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), will exhibit her photography this winter at two New Jersey galleries.

“Windows on the World,” a group exhibit by members of the New Jersey Photography Forum that celebrates the beauty of the world and its inhabitants, will be held at the Overlook Hospital Auxiliary Gallery from January 19 to April 12, 2014. The gallery is located on 99 Beauvoir Avenue in Summit, New Jersey.  “New Brunswick in The Eyes of Photographers” will be presented by the Alfa Art Gallery from January 10 to January 29, 2014 in cooperation with New Brunswick City Market. The exhibit is part of the New Brunswick Art Salon series in which Alfa invites established and emerging artists to present their works as a tangible presentation of their artistic expression. The Alfa Art Gallery is located on 108 Church Street in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Kumar’s main photo interests are travel, fine art and portraiture. She aims to bring beauty, story and emotion to viewers while evoking memory, mind and spirit. Her photography training began at age 14 when her mother showed her how to use a fully manual 35-millimeter Minolta x700. Since then, photography became a passion and in 2010 she started her own business.
