Mayor Dickson Invites Public Participation in Mayors Forum on Diversity 2/25

The next meeting of the Summit Mayor’s Forum on Diversity will be held on Tuesday, February 25 from 8 AM to 9:30 AM in the Whitman Community Room at City Hall.  Co-chairs Mayor Ellen Dickson and Susan Hairston will lead a public discussion of ways to better meet diversity needs in Summit through community partnerships and enhanced outreach to resident groups.  A presentation by Annette Dwyer of Shaping Summit Together will focus on Martin Luther King Day activities within the City and generate feedback on ways to more effectively enhance impact and participation.

“Diversity is a cultural tenet embraced by the City of Summit to foster inclusion, respect, understanding, service and quality of life in our community,” explains Mayor Dickson. “The Diversity Committee of Summit continues to look within our own community to identify, discuss, and appreciate how differences make us stronger and offer rich opportunities for learning and growth.  At this next meeting we will discuss the goals and mission of the committee, and brainstorm initiatives for the year ahead.  Please join us.”
