Update: Sunday Street Fair Cancelled

Organizers have cancelled the second annual event due to expected rain.

Darryl Walker, who organizes Summit's event through his StreetFairs.org, wrote the following message to fair participants.

Dear Summit Street Fair Exhibitor:

After receiving numerous requests from registered Exhibitors who were concerned that their merchandise would become damaged by the predicted rain, coupled by the prospect of extremely limited spectator attendance (due to the combination of cold weather and dampness), we decided to take a “Vote by Email” early this morning whether to proceed or cancel.  Approximately 98% of the respondents voted to cancel the Street Fair.  We listened.

Therefore, the Summit Street Fair has been canceled for tomorrow, October 7, 2012.  A letter will be sent today to every registered Exhibitor regarding a credit for one free booth-space at any of our available Street Fairs, anytime in the future.

Thank you for your continued support under these unavoidable and unfortunate weather conditions.
