Hurricane Sandy: Summit's Beacon of Light (Video)

Calvary Church opened its doors to the Summit community following Sandy's arrival.

Sandy's arrival last week left more than half of Summit without power. With stores closed, or roads blocked, those without generators or a fireplace were left cold with a touch of cabin fever.

One Summit church, the only one to keep its power at a time of massive outages opened it doors to help the community with shelter, power and food.

Calvary Church at 31 Woodland Ave, continues to offer three meals a day, ending with dinner at 6p.m. If you're in need of a warm place to stay, eat or just charge your laptop, give them a call: (908) 277-1814.
