It is Officially Spring and Summit Free Market is Back

Summit Free Market is a student run initiative that encourages Summit residents to bring unwanted, reusable to items to share and take whatever they want.

The following information was provided by Summit Free Market.

It’s the time of year everyone has been waiting for—Summit Free Market is back! The event will take place at the City of Summit Transfer Station on upcoming Saturdays April 20th and April 27th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Summit residents are welcome to bring unwanted, reusable items to share, and take whatever they want. It’s all FREE! The Summit Free Market is a student-run initiative planned and led by a group of Summit High School students with volunteer help on the days of the events from Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School students.

Seasonal events are held every fall and spring at the Transfer Station on New Providence Ave., in addition to the online www.summitfreemarket.org that is available year-round.

To date, the Summit Free Market has saved over 60 tons of unwanted, reusable items from landfills or the incinerator since its creation in 2009. Who knows? Maybe that finishing touch to your living room or your latest creative inspiration will come from Summit Free Market.  Hope to see you there! For a list of restricted items and more information, please visit www.summitfreemarket.org.
