The Summit Jewish Community Center will hold its used clothing drive to benefit the center's Rabbi William and Dena Horne Religious School next week. The event, which runs from Oct. 24- 28, is in partnership with a website called clothingdrivefundraiser.com, a service that returns money to the center based on the weight of items collected.
"This is not the first time that we are having a clothing drive," said Rabbi Avi Friedman, "but the first time with this organization."
According to a flier for the event, the reusable clothing will be sent around the globe to people in need via small businesses or micro-enterprises.
Also being accepted during the event are fashion accessories, household items, toys and shoes. Books and other media are not being accepted.
Donors are asked to drop off items at the SJCC, 67 Kent Place Blvd., Class Room 7, during business hours. Drop off runs from Oct. 24, until noon on Oct. 28. Contact Jessica Mehlman at email@example.com with any questions or call 201-232-0425.
