'Build' Summit in LEGOs: Registration Now Open

50 families can recreate Summit landmarks with LEGOs.

Teams of parents and children will unite to recreate dozens of Summit streets and buildings using more than 50,000 LEGOs to benefit the Summit Historical Society.

From 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, the first 50 families to register will join forces at Washington School, 507 Morris Ave., to "build" Summit using a 30 x 20 foot map of the downtown area and the classic construction blocks.

The ninth annual event is presented by Stephen W. Schwartz, of SWS Architects in Livingston and sponsored by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Summit Office and Smythe Volvo of Summit and supported by Summit Downtown, Inc.

Children must be accompanied by their parents for the workshop, which provides a unique and fun way to learn about the heritage of some of Summit's buildings. Spectators are invited to join the fun at no charge.

The registration fee is a minimum contribution of $25 per family, with the total proceeds donated to the Summit Historical Society. Payment must be made at the time of registration to secure a spot at the event, Register in person at Coldwell Banker, 401 Springfield Avenue or Smythe Volvo, 326 Morris AveSummit.
