Safety Improvements Made to Power Substation

JCP&L crews install new circuit breaker at Briant Park substation.

Earlier this year, Jersey Central Power & Light announced that it would invest nearly $200 million in 2012 to improve service reliability and help meet the increasing demand for electricity in its service area.  

In the Summit area, JCP&L crews installed a new circuit breaker at the Briant Park substation. Circuit breakers, automatically disconnect power in the event of a fault, to prevent equipment damage. JCP&L workers are pictured preparing the new circuit breaker to be connected.
