“If you visit a parent in a nursing home, care for a disabled spouse or parent, or provide support on any level for an older loved one, then you probably face emotional challenges every day,” stated Dr. Rosalind Dorlen.  “It’s a very stressful job to care for someone else and there are ways to reduce some of the stress and anxiety that comes with the challenges of being a caregiver.”

Her presentation is being held in connection with a monthly support group meeting for P.R.E.P. (People Responsible for Elderly Persons).  “Our support groups give attendees the chance to meet with other caregivers in similar circumstances, learn effective problem-solving and coping skills, and receive emotional support from each other.  In addition, we invite guest speakers throughout the year to address current topics and, as always, open the meetings to the public to assist caregivers in supporting their loved ones,” added Ellen McNally, Director of InfoCare at SAGE.
