Summit Decks the Halls For Holiday Season

Holiday decorations go up around town.

Department of Public Works employees were busy dressing up downtown Summit Tuesday morning.

Superintendent of Public Works Paul Cascais said approximately 60 wreaths will adorn lampposts while LED energy-saving lights will be strung in trees along Bank Street, a new addition this holiday season.

Outside the Central Retail Business District, holiday banners will be hung on poles and, just after Thanksgiving, a tree, donated by Magic fountain, will be placed in the Promenade on Springfield Avenue, Cascais said.

Santa will arrive in Summit on Sunday, Dec. 8, the same day the tree lighting will take place on the Village Green. Click here for more information about the event.
