Update: In light of the forecast, the vigil will take place indoors at the Central Presbyterian Church, located at 70 Maple St. Summit.
The Summit Interfaith Council will hold a candlelight vigil from 4 to 5 p.m. on Saturday on the Village Green to remember the 20 first-graders and 6 educators shot to death on Dec. 14, 2012, at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. The shooter also killed his mother and himself.

Vanessa Southern, senior minister of The Unitarian Church in Summit, Ralph Froehlich, Union County Sheriff, and Samuel Arnold, president of the Garden State Funeral Directors Association. Music will be provided by the children’s choir of Summit’s St. Teresa of Avila Roman Catholic Church and others.
