High Profile New Jersey Celebrities, Business and Community Leaders Join Together to Aid in the Rebuilding and Recovery Effort
First Lady Mary Pat Christie, Chair of the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund, proudly announced today that a number of celebrities, business and community leaders with deep Jersey roots will join a growing Advisory Board of the non-profit charity launched just over two weeks ago to assist in the long-term recovery effort following the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. In addition to New Jersey natives Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi, the Advisory Board will also welcome the efforts of Live with Kelly and Michael co-host Kelly Ripa, nationally syndicated talk show host Dr. Mehmet Oz, musician and actor Kevin Jonas, Hess Corporation CEO John Hess, New York Jets Center Nick Mangold, and former Major League Baseball pitcher Al Leiter.
Additionally, important New Jersey community leaders including Rev. Reginald Jackson of the New Jersey Black Ministers Council and Martin Perez of the Latino Leadership Alliance of New Jersey have agreed to serve as Advisory Board members. The group will join former U.S. Senator Bill Bradley who was announced last week as Honorary Vice Chairman of the organization.
The Advisory Board will help build public awareness and financial support for the Fund. To date, the Relief Fund has raised over $16 million from more than 7,000 donors, including $2.5 million alone from the Hess Corporation.

"There are so many people along the Shore and across New Jersey whose homes were destroyed, personal possessions robbed from them and whose lives were turned upside down. The support and awareness that this group will bring to the organization is immeasurable. It goes without saying that each serve as tremendous ambassadors for New Jersey on a global stage, and to have them work on the Fund's behalf will certainly accelerate our momentum and increase our effectiveness in our shared goal of rebuilding New Jersey."
Bruce Springsteen:
"The destruction that New Jersey has sustained is heartbreaking. I'm humbled to play a small role by supporting the New Jersey Relief Fund and know that all of us will rally together to help our neighbors to come back better and stronger."
Jon Bon Jovi:
"The damage and devastation New Jersey has suffered as a result of Hurricane Sandy was unimaginable and the path to rebuilding will be a long one; but I have every confidence in the resilience of the people that are New Jersey. Thanks to the generosity of so many who answered the call in this time of need, from our bays to our boardwalks, we will rebuild."
Governor Chris Christie:
"Today's announcement is a sign of how resilient and caring New Jerseyans really are. As we continue to work side-by-side to help our fellow residents, I am moved by the compassion and empathy we feel for those most affected. Regardless of the capacity in which each of us works to rebuild our state, the sum is already greater than its parts. Thank you to everyone that is involved and focused on the main goal, to make New Jersey great again."
