Have you heard? A dynamic new cable show will join the HTTV community lineup of programming for Summit and area residents.
The show’s host, Marianne DeSantis, a Summit resident and parent, leads conversation among panels of Summit parents, students, and alumni discussing the show’s topic, which is then offered to experts for insights and guidance. Real, meaningful conversation — no scripts!
The first show — “Underage Drinking” — will kick off with a live premiere on Thursday, Jan. 17 at MONDO, located 426 Springfield Ave. There will be two showings that evening at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. (A donation of $10 for adults and $5 for students is suggested.)
Complimentary live entertainment for kids under 12 will be provided at MONDO’s Jam Summit. The live premiere will feature a Q&A opportunity with the experts featured on the first show: Dr. Michael Osit and Dr. Galen Cooper.
Dr. Osit, a local Warren psychologist, has been in practice for more than 30 years, providing psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and families. He has authored “Generation Text: Raising Well Adjusted kids in an Age of Instant Everything” and has several national and local television appearances to his credit.
Dr. Cooper is a specialist in addiction psychology and is an addiction coach. She has authored “A Turmoil Called Home - My Family’s Journey into the Hell of Addiction - A Memoir.” Dr. Cooper also authored (and performs) her one woman play “Motherhood and Apple Pie.”
Summit’s “The View” is funded by a grant from the Summit Area Public Foundation, in partnership with Shaping Summit Together, and in cooperation with the Film Society of Summit. The vision for this programming is to create a forum for frank conversation while providing a parenting resource for the Summit community. Don’t miss it!
Summit’s “The View” is directed by Lisa Reznik, a Summit resident and filmmaker, and produced by Marianne DeSantis.
