Common Council To Meet Tonight

Plus: Boys lacrosse scrimmage at 4 p.m.

Here are five things you need know today, March 15, 2011:

  1. The entire town of Livingston is on SALE! No, really, it is. “Livingston Shop & Eat Around” is an event that will give local area residents the chance to save while visiting a variety of township shops, eateries, fitness centers, beauty salons and service providers. Slated for March 15, each participating business will also provide $100 in gift certificates for a huge town-wide prize drawing.
  2. Common Council will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers at city hall.
  3. The Carriage House Poetry Series is hosting acclaimed author and poet John Wareham tonight at 8 p.m.  This evening will be held in the The the Patricia M. Kuran Cultural Arts Center on Watson Road, off Martine Avenue, adjacent to Fanwood Borough Hall. (GPS use 75 N.   4. Looking to start your own small business? The Westfield Library presents financing a small business in today's economy. The program, hosted by Kean University's Small Business Development Center, will answer all your questions on how to finance your small business.  Pre-registration is required. Event runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. To register call (908) 789-4090.
  5. The boys lacrosse team will have a scrimmage this afternoon against Watchung Hills Regional at 4 p.m. at Summit High School. Spring is in the air!
