The event is hosted by Tony's Cafe, conveniently located at 21 N. Union Avenue in downtown Cranford, NJ, and presented in association with the SunRex Entertainment Group. Acclaimed jazz violinist and group founder Yuri Turchyn composes and arranges original music while having a highly visible career as a featured premier performer. He
was a founding member of the country rock band, Kinderhook and went on to Now, Voyager, played Irish tunes in Trinity II, The World among others. For the last several years, he has performed with Pat Guadagno
and Tired Horses Live in Concert for “Bobfest” (a popular annual Bob Dylan birthday tribute concert). As a seasoned session musician, he performed on Roger Gardella’s studio album Thanksgiving Day, on George
Simonovitch’s When Realities Become Dreams, and compilation CD releases Juntamente and Vida Y Amor with vocalist Joanne Martinez and Brazilian guitarist Paulo Pinho, both Teatro Si Productions.
Yuri is joined in concert by Grupo Yuri members including; bassist Jim Grant, known for his groove oriented playing; Al Selert on drums, a much sought after performer for many years; acclaimed guitarist Tim Boyce; and percussionist Stacy Grant, with a keenly developed sense of samba rhythm and more.
The staff and management at Tony's Cafe strive to make sure that patrons enjoy their Jazz It Up experience. The venue offers the perfect intimate and comfortable setting for an evening of Good Music, Good Food, Good Friends, Good Times! Reservations are highly recommended. Seating and dinner service for the concert experience starts at 6pm and continues during the program. Showtime is from 7pm to 9pm.
