Summit’s families are invited to join the Summit PAL’s Halloween Parade on Saturday, October 29, 2011. The parade tops off a great day for kids as they are welcome to Trick or Treat Downtown Summit from 12 Noon – 3:00 PM. The PAL Halloween Parade gathers at the Bouras Parking Lot on DeBorest Avenue at 3:00 PM. The Halloween Parade begins at 3:30 PM. The parade route runs from De Forest Avenue to Beechwood Road to Springfield Avenue to Summit’s beautiful Village Green.  Refreshments will be served on the Village Green while the judges pick the best costumes in lots of categories including Best Group, Most Original and Best Overall. The event is held rain or shine. This annual Halloween Extravaganza is co-sponsored by the City of Summit’s Department of Community Programs. Rumor has it that Shark Diddy the mascot of the Summit Family Aquatic Center and McMuni, the Municipal Golf Course mascot will also be on hand to parade with the kids.

The parade ends at the Village Green where the prizes will be awarded from the Summit Showmobile. This event happens rain or shine. Start planning your costumes now, as the competition is great.
