The Masterwork Chorus to Hold Auditions

The Masterwork Chorus, one of New Jersey’s finest symphonic choirs, will hold auditions for new members on Wednesday evening, January 11, 2012 in the New Jersey Youth Symphony space at 500 Central Avenue, New Providence, NJ.  Highly experienced choral singers with strong vocal and sight-reading skills are encouraged to participate.  To schedule an audition time please contact Kearney Vrabel, Membership Chair, at 609-670-7068 or at membership@masterwork.org.

Masterwork Chorus Music Director Andrew Megill, an Associate Professor at Westminster Choir College, Rider University, has garnered critical praise for the “extreme virtuosity” and “level of skill to which he has brought this organization” (Don Martone, Recorder Newspapers) and for his “uplifting show of musical instinct” (Willa Conrad, The Star Ledger).  He is also the Artistic Director of Fuma Sacra, a professional early music ensemble, the Director of Choral Activities for the world renowned Carmel (California) Bach Festival, and the Choir Conductor for the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal.

Masterwork Chorus is a welcoming group of professional and amateur musicians who share the joy and excellence that Mr. Megill brings to their rehearsals and performances.  The group’s spring concert, featuring settings of the Magnificat by Vivaldi and Finzi, as well as The Best Beloved by DeBlasio and Vivaldi’s Beatus Vir, will be performed on May 5, 2012 at the concert Hall, Dorothy Young Center for the Arts at Drew University in Madison, NJ.
