Musical Entertainment Abounds This Summer

The band "Taboo" plays Echo Lake Park tonight at 7:30.

Feel the need to make a soul sacrifice? Couldn't get tickets to tonight's Santana concert at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel?

Well if you're not into the Beatles and Rolling Stones and don't want to see Carnaby Street tonight on the Village Green, you still have another option for entertainment.

The Santana tribute band, Taboo, will play a free concert at Echo Lake Park in Mountainside tonight at 7:30, the Union County Department of Parks and Community Renewal announced in a press release.

All the members of Taboo share a passion for recreating the electrifying sound of Santana's greatest hits, the release said. Whether performing at street fairs or popular music venues throughout the Tri-State area, Taboo delivers the magic Santana sound with authenticity. It's all there: the propulsive Latin percussion, the fiery lead guitar, the "groove" that connects to the soul of the audience. Taboo's set list is full of old favorites as well as Santana's hits from the Grammy Award-winning album, "Supernatural."

"Bring the entire family for an evening of spirited music in Echo Lake Park," Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders Chairman Daniel P. Sullivan said in the release. "Pack a picnic basket, bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on, and enjoy the sounds of Santana under the stars." Refreshments and snacks will be available from vendors.
