Creating Art on a Sunday Afternoon at the Art Center

Art Afternoon Fun at the Art Center

On Sunday, May 20, the welcomed 60 visitors to its first Art Afternoon: Meet & Make.  We created this program as way for people to meet informally with the artists in our current exhibitions and to make art inspired by their work.

John Goodyear, David Ambrose and Peter Jacobs—the artists in our spring-summer shows-- were available in each of the galleries to answer questions. Attendees also got creative in three hands-on workshops. Projects included a Collage of the Day (based on Peter Jacobs’s Collage Journal), double-optical art (based on John Goodyear’s Double Subject drawings) and paintings without brushes (based on David Ambrose’s works).  Art Afternoon was a fun way to bring the art on view ‘to life’ as people completed projects based on what they saw in the galleries.

Hopefully you can spend an afternoon with us at our next Meet & Make event this fall.
