Investors Foundation Grant Boosts Oak Knoll Scholarship Fund

The gift from Investors Bank's foundation will fund an Oak Knoll School scholarship.

Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child in Summit received a $9,000 grant award recently from the Investors Foundation, which supports nonprofit organizations that enrich the communities served by Investors Bank.

The grant, which builds on previous funding awarded by the foundation, will support a scholarship fund at the faith-based independent school, which is part of a network of 33 Holy Child schools throughout the world.

The Investors Foundation grant will support the school’s Joanne Ainsworth Scholarship Fund, named for Lower School Principal Joanne Ainsworth, who recently retired.  An Oak Knoll alum, Ainsworth served the school for 27 years.

“I recall the sacrifices my parents made to send me to Oak Knoll, and the financial support we received that enabled me to continue attending,” she said.  “This scholarship exists to ensure that those same educational opportunities are available to deserving young people in our community.”

The foundation’s support of the fund will enable one or more Lower School families in need of assistance to receive a financial award that will be used toward paying tuition.

“Over the past 90 years, Oak Knoll School has continually stayed true to its spiritual and academic mission,” said Investors Bank President and CEO Kevin Cummings, who serves on the foundation’s board.  “The Joanne Ainsworth Scholarship Fund is one of many important programs that allow this worthwhile mission."

“We are most grateful for the ongoing friendship and support of the Investors Foundation,” added Timothy J. Saburn, Oak Knoll’s head of school.  “Their generosity, and that of all our donors and partners, will help Oak Knoll School, its students and their families continue to flourish in the years to come.”

Oak Knoll School enrolls boys and girls in kindergarten through grade six and young women in grades seven through 12.
