Sweet Orange Serves Frozen Yogurt Treats

The new self-serve frozen yogurt shop is located at 545 Morris Ave.

If you'd like an alternative to Magic Fountain, which is a favorite Summit haunt on Morris Avenue, you may want to try Sweet Orange, a new self-serve frozen yogurt shop that opened its doors on July 27 across from Merck at 545 Morris Avenue.

Like another new shop downtown, Sweet Orange offers customers the opportunity to serve up their own tasty cold treat. What makes Sweet Orange different from similar yogurt shops is their large selection of 16 flavors of frozen yogurt and more than 48 toppings ranging from healthy fresh fruit to chocolate covered raisins and the ever popular Gummy Bears.

"Our yogurt tastes different from the others," said owner Ginna Kim. "We believe it tastes better."

After concocting their frozen yogurt delight, customers have it weighed and then pay the friendly Sweet Orange staff at the counter.

Sweet Orange is not a franchise and is the very first store of its kind. It features kosher frozen yogurt and claims that the cultures in the yogurt improve digestion and overall health.

"We thought Summit was a good location for our first shop," Kim said, "because it's a good town with residents who appreciate good healthy food. It's also nice to be near Merck and other nice shops like Dunkin Donuts in our great location."

Sweet Orange is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
