BPWNJ To Hold Breakfast Meeting With Networking

Business and Professional Women of New Jersey (BPWNJ) will hold its Winter Meeting  on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Monmouth University's Magill Commons, in the Club Dining Room.  Monmouth University is located in West Long Branch, NJ.  Networking and breakfast begins at 8:00 AM and is followed by a business meeting and program beginning at 9:00AM and ending at 12:00PM.  Members of the public are welcome to attend.  Advanced reservations and payment are required.

The keynote speaker at the meeting will be Gina Dinkey, a member of BPW of Southern Ocean County. Gina recently moved to Barnegat and works for Hewlett Packard as a Global Support Product Manager. Her responsibilities include Release Cycle Planning, Technical Enablement, Product Communication, and Support Optimization, while driving supportability, quality and usability of products.

Gina will be speaking on how Hewlett Packard is working to infuse and promote women into the workforce fields of technology, science and math. Her skills have taken her to assist in an acquisition in Frimley, England and throughout the United States to mentor team members and attend various leadership meetings.  Her Ambassador role includes educating females to have determination, to stand up for themselves and not to be afraid in the work place. Helping to create diversity; adapting to different mindsets and policies;  sponsoring key development programs to prepare diverse top talent for career advancement and professional growth; having an Executive Presence; branding yourself—these are a few of the topics that Gina will be addressing.

Chartered in 1919, BPWNJ is a statewide organization presiding over multi-regional local organizations. The ultimate goal for BPWNJ is equality for all women in areas of pay, opportunity, growth, health and well-being.  The mission of the organization is to provide a supportive environment for women working towards personal and professional fulfillment, by advocating women's economic, educational and health issue.  The vision is to be the leading advocate for New Jersey women. Membership is open to all individuals who support the vision and mission of BPWNJ.

BPWNJ also offers networking opportunities at the state and local levels.  Local organizations are available in East Bergen, Lincroft, Middlebrook and New Brunswick, Southern Ocean County, Suburban Essex, Summit and Tri Town (which covers Belleville, Bloomfield and Nutley). 

Each year the BPWNJ Foundation awards Career Development Scholarships to women continuing their education or to purchase a piece of equipment for a small business.  Applications will be available for downloading in February 2014 and the awards will be presented in May.  Visit www.bpwnj.com to learn more about the organization, its scholarship program and to join.
