Are You Celebrating National Bike Month?

Today is Bike to Work Day.

If you haven't taken advantage of Bike to Work Week, then today is your the day to participate in the national event. The Garden State is the 5th most bicycle-friendly state in the country, according to the advocacy group League of American Bicyclists. Washington is the top ranked state with Maine coming in second and New York coming in at 34.

While bicycling isn't the most obvious way to get to your job in Manhattan, it's a great way to get to work if you have a job here in Summit. To mark Bike to Work Day people are also encouraged to walk to work, or do some other form of outdoors physical activity.

If you'd like to take part in special events during Bike Month, then head over to Madison where there's a on Sunday afternoon. Further out, and  there are bike and walk celebrations that are among the creme de la creme of local Bike Month events. Check out any of several high profile happenings this weekend and next week.
